About Spencer Evans
Spencer Evans, Esq is an experienced tax attorney with nearly 20 years of experience practicing exclusively in tax law. His career began as a state tax attorney working for a state taxing agency, giving him firsthand insight into government tax administration, enforcement procedures and tax controversy matters.
Spencer also spent more than 13 years with two of the Big Four accounting firms, PwC and Deloitte, where he represented businesses of all sizes in complex tax matters before state taxing authorities throughout the United States. His extensive experience on both the government and taxpayer representation sides provides him with a unique perspective on how tax disputes are evaluated, negotiated, and resolved.
His practice focuses on state and local tax controversies, including nationwide sales tax audit defense, reverse sales tax audits, tax refund recovery, multi-state tax disputes, and federal and state tax appeals. Spencer works with businesses facing complicated tax challenges, helping them understand their obligations, evaluate available options, and develop effective strategies to resolve disputes while minimizing unnecessary financial exposure.
Spencer earned his Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law in 2005 and is admitted to practice in Arizona and Utah, as well as before federal district courts and the United States Tax Court.
With nearly two decades of specialized tax law experience, Spencer combines extensive technical knowledge, government experience, and a practical approach to representing taxpayers. His goal is to help businesses navigate complex tax matters, protect their financial interests, and achieve favorable, sustainable resolutions.
