About Lesley Sive
A graduate of Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, Lesley A. Sive has practiced as an attorney in the Los Angeles area for over 37 years. For more than 19 years, she has focused her practice exclusively on tax controversy work and has successfully resolved thousands of federal and state tax cases for individuals and businesses. She assertively advocates for her clients with the IRS and state tax agencies and has built successful working relationships with many IRS and state revenue officers and revenue agents on behalf of her clients.
Lesley provides each client with a hands on, upfront and thorough analysis of his or her case. She de-mystifies IRS and state regulations and procedures and works with clients so that they understand what they need to do to bring themselves into compliance with tax regulations. She explains and discusses all possible options for resolving each client’s tax liability. She negotiates with the IRS or state to bring about the best resolution for each client based on his or her particular circumstances. Lesley is readily accessible to her clients to discuss their cases, provide advice and answer their questions.
Prior to her involvement in tax controversy work, Lesley represented actors in the Screen Actors Guild and writers in the Writers’ Guild of America West. She also worked as a Deputy Attorney General for the California Attorney General’s Office. Lesley is a speaker on tax issues and conducts seminars for corporations and organizations.
Lesley has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1985 and is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Central and Southern Districts of California.
