Review
The last 3 or more years have been extremely difficult for me. At the time we met it was during Covid, I was selling a business, deciding whether to retire or buy another company, then starting a business and dealing with the enormous mistake I felt the IRS had made on my taxes. For example, the first letter I received the IRS stated I owed them over $400,000. I know enough to know the IRS doesn’t have to be right, but they do have to be responded too.
Therefore, I engaged my accountant who was involved in creating this nightmare for me. He wrote a response, and my 4-year journey with the IRS began. When that failed, I reached out to a friend who is a Tax Attorney. He reviewed my documents, a few tax returns and he too put together a response letter for me. The IRS responded that I still needed to pay over $150,000. My friend said he was not the person to use to take the IRS head on, but he had a guy. His “guy” never called me back. During all of this it was ridiculous how many solicitation – letters, emails, and phone calls I received from firms wanting to represent me in this matter. They all made huge promises, for a nice fee to take care of this. Then at the height of my feeling powerless against the IRS and just as all hope was leaving me, I was referred you.
You will never know how much I appreciate your tenacity and knowledge with resolving this issue. You were the only one I contacted, including my accountant, who found out why the IRS was making their claims. This led us to correcting the mistakes and positioned us much better for getting to a positive conclusion. Also, your knowledge of the inner workings of the IRS and my rights as a taxpayer I found to be extremely comforting and gave me confidence we were going to get the result we wanted.
When we finally arrived at the place where I felt was proper and I wrote the check for the final amount, I felt this huge burden lift off me. You must know I believe you are the only reason I was able to get the IRS off of my back and out of my affairs.
