As a tax professional with over twenty years in the industry, I've had the opportunity to work with small business owners, individuals ranging from basic income levels to high net worth, and most types of taxable entities. Though much of the time was spent performing compliance, throughout the years, I've handled several resolution cases related to tax preparation clients. These ranged from basic IRS notices resolved with a letter, to complicated notices that required extensive research, analysis, and nuanced arguments to achieve the best possible result for the client given their circumstances. I always seemed to gravitate towards resolution work, as I found it the most interesting and rewarding. At times, I noted how I could become desensitized to the mere appearance of IRS/FTB correspondence, but more importantly, I also noticed how anxiety-inducing such correspondence can be for those who don't experience it routinely. That's when I eventually decided to focus my practice on mitigating that anxiety for taxpayers who find themselves in need of sound, professional advice and vigorous advocacy.
