About Sean J. O'Connor
Sean is dedicated to tax compliance with an emphasis on international tax issues. His full-service law firm helps clients with federal and state tax debt, unreported overseas financial accounts, and returns under examination.
Before launching The Law Offices of O'Connor and Lyon, Sean spent several years managing a moderate-sized tax department at a firm specializing in international disclosures. He trained many tax preparers on the ins and outs of complicated tax issues, and he thoroughly enjoys explaining sophisticated tax principles in relatable ways.
He also spent many years in the role of supervising attorney. In this position, he reviewed the most complex tax returns while also directly handling audits, tax resolution issues, and the attorney-driven components of international disclosures.
Sean graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maine with a degree in philosophy and psychology and an additional degree from the university's Honors College. Then, he graduated cum laude from the University of Connecticut School of Law with a Juris Doctorate and a Tax Certificate.
In his free time, Sean enjoys playing ice hockey and racquetball. Sean is, at heart, a competitor, and this trait makes him very effective at advocating for his clients.
