Mine was a midlife crisis for the ages. I faced divorce, my father’s death, failed businesses, compromised career and credit, slander, libel, discrimination, poisoning, hospitalizations, and even criminal charges at one point! But my father taught me not to quit—that a champion stands up when he falls, no matter what. As a dad myself, I’m showing his grandson how to stand up for himself and also how to ask for help when he needs it.
