Ellen Mitchell started doing her taxes in 1995 with Turbo Tax. It was easy enough, and after a while, friends began asking her to help them with their taxes. In 2005, she took the leap and registered for H&R Block's tax class.
After working that first tax season with H&R Block, Ellen was hooked. She loved working with clients and helping them solve their tax problems, advising them on how to save money on the next year's taxes, and generally helping them understand the tax system and how it related to them specifically. In 2020, Ellen launched Columbia Tax Services. She wanted to serve her clients year-round and address issues as they arose. It was the best decision she ever made.
