Elizabeth Nelson, Esq. is a brilliant attorney, with skill, clarity and efficiency in both regular tax and charitable tax. There are many cases we have worked on together. She represents clients that owe substantial amounts to the IRS or the FTB and these clients also need CPA assistance. Two cases stand out which show her exemplary skill.

The first case, was an IRS foundation tax audit and the second case was within a business and individual IRS and FTB tax controversy case. In the first case, specifically, over a 6-month period, I provided Elizabeth all required tax returns. We timely filed the charitable tax returns and her excellent audit knowledge of private foundations caused her client to avoid a $2,000,000.00 excise tax penalty. We were able to reduce to $0 due on the foundation tax audit.

In the second case, Elizabeth worked with great patience and accuracy, discussing with me the necessary information for the filing and amending 3 years of 1120s tax returns, 1065, and 1040 and corresponding state tax returns for my business client that owes thousands to the FTB and the IRS. We were able to show errors in the client’s prior tax returns and secure excellent results on the controversy.

Elizabeth is always professional, always accurate, and always a pleasure to work with for all my clients.
I trust her knowledge and expertise in both for profit (corporate, partnership and individual) and not-for-profit (charitable and foundation). It is rare that a tax attorney has proficiency in both the profit and not-for-profit sector.

Elizabeth Nelson, Esq., is an excellent tax controversy and has removed an FTB a $2.5M IRS Listed Transaction Penalty and additional FTB income taxes against a physician was reversed to $576,500. She is a brilliant negotiator with the FTB and IRS. She also helped my client who owed millions to the IRS secure a penalty abatement and stopped a levy on his assets, and finally secured a Streamline Installment Agreement for him.

After referring my client to Elizabeth, she very quickly assessed the situation and took immediate action to de-escalate the tax situation with the IRS so that my client could get the necessary detailed information to her. Upon receipt of the client information, Elizabeth started the process of negotiating with the revenue officer. Due to the enormity of the back payroll taxes owed, Elizabeth got the case re-assigned to the West Coast office so as to avoid criminal charges for the client. She then pursued the IRS case under civil penalty guidelines. Bottom line, her quick action and knowledge of the situation avoided a criminal case from the IRS.

Elizabeth Nelson is very smart and knows her way around the IRS. She stopped the IRS from filing a levy and lien on my assets, by filing a Collection Appeal, a form 12153, and got me an extra 9 months to secure a loan to pay down my tax and avoid a tax lien. We just finalized the Installment Agreement and there is NO lien on my assets!!! I can pay off what is left over time. We are also filing a penalty abatement to remove penalties and secure an even lower amount due. Elizabeth will help you to protect your assets. I owed thousands and she helped me protect my assets legally with the IRS. Elizabeth also got me a penalty abatement on my exempt organization, for about $7,000. for You should use her also.
