About Christopher J. Micklatcher
Chris is a Tax Attorney and a CPA with over 40 years of tax experience, and 32 years of tax controversy or tax resolution experience.
Chris graduated from the University of Michigan with a BBA in Finance and Accounting in 1980 and in 1984 gradudated with a J.D. specializing in Tax Law from Wayne State Law School.
Mr. Micklatcher worked for one of the Big Three Accounting and Consulting firms (formerly Ernst & Whinney) in their Detroit and Boston offices. Chris focused on implementing accounting, compliance and tax systems for Fortune 100 firms to small businesses.
Eventually, in 1992 Mr. Micklatcher started Chris Micklatcher & Associates, a full-service accounting and law practice in Maine. Years later, he sold the accounting and tax prepration side of his business to a national tax preparation company and later the law practice to his law partner.
Later Chris moved back to Battle Creek, Michigan, which he grew up, and to focus on helping individuals, families, and businesses with IRS and state tax problems.
