Where do I begin? Very poor communication as emails were so delayed, especially with time sensitive questions. We had tax analyses done and for over $3000, included very poor advice regarding where to invest our money, random energy companies we should be exploring, inflation of numbers and to continue funding a 529 that was already fully funded, and give it to other children in our family (huh?). It was lazy, boiler plate information that took six months to get following our payment. We have already fact checked much of his investment advice with our investment broker who found numerous issues. Fast forward to tax time, he provided inaccurate deduction information based on numbers I did not request, and failed to accurately answer questions with numbers I did provide and then had to call his attention to it. Rather than apologize, he simply pointed out that I should be essentially happy with result, even if it was far less than he said it would be. This cost me several thousand dollars of an investment contribution to "save money" that he was wrong about. He offered no apology, but defended the inaccuracies. Our billing statements were frequently wrong and I had to review invoices, revise numbers for him and resubmit only to have them be wrong again. Staying on top of him became a full-time job. Because he did our taxes last year, we referred him to some friends of ours earlier but now we have had to hire a CPA to review the returns from last year (and this year's draft) because there were so many errors in his math. We have lost complete confidence and we fired him and will be retracting our recommendation to the referral source. The amount of money, and energy we spent fact checking this CPA has cost us time and IRS penalties we will never get back. His demeanor is unprofessional, his responses when errors were called out are sarcastic and hostile. He will likely respond to this review and refute much of what I'm saying, because he becomes very defensive when confronted, but I have the emails and documentation and would be completely willing to share in the interest of full transparency. I do not recommend this firm.
